Solinftec
Our initial attraction to Solinftec was the quality of people we met at the company and have continued to meet since our original interaction with Leo Carvalho, their Canadian leader. In our discussions we had the opportunity to meet with people from customer support, product development, founders, management and board members. Every person we have met has a very clear understanding on the objectives and mission of Solinftec, with an extreme desire to accomplish those objectives. Once we understood the resource commitments Solinftec was making in Canada, we got excited about our alignment and business opportunities.
Objectives and Key Results
With any plan we make, we always start by working backwards, mapping our strategic objectives and key results to maintain uncompromising high standards on the outcomes and goals we set for our company. Building off two of our principles; develop trust and operational excellence, we decided to go all in with the team at Solinftec towards building the ERP system for the Canadian farm.
A gap we have seen to date is the inability for all of our assets to communicate status/throughout/capacity etc. For example, to optimize our in field utilization, we need more automated information on the status of the tender trucks, so the people in the yard can make adjustments to keep everyone productive. Additionally, we need to optimize the logistics when the assets are not operating in the field.
We have also been looking for products that makes our employees days simpler, where most new technologies add complexity.
With Solinftec’s work order and tender truck products, we can make step improvements in our operation. With both of those products working together, our fixed assets can communicate the respective status to each other (akin to how John Deere units connect to each other), in addition to helping employees optimize their road travels and fill times, resulting in more acres per asset and day.

The largest enabler of this partnership to build Canadian ready solutions is the confidence we have in our employees to leap up the learning curve on cutting edge technology and provide feedback to aid in product development. Their commitment to excellence year round, but especially in-season, allows our company to set and reach ambitious targets.
Additionally, our external equipment partners, Western Sales and Verge Agro free up capacity by doing much of the heavy lifting in the equipment stack.

Western provides us with our John Deere and Bourgault equipment, instead of being a commoditize retailer, they have chosen to lean in as a trusted advisor. Their mechanic team proactively keeps our equipment in good shape by monitoring data and alerting us to required maintenance in addition to the rapid response on unexpected repairs. Additionally the Western team provides us with an optimized portfolio of digital services that helps us maximize equipment productivity. The combination of their mechanic and digital solutions team keeps us progressing towards total asset optimization.
Verge Agro
With Verge, we have a partner that is solely focused on accelerating the world’s transition to autonomous farming. Their path planning software, Launch Pad, helps us maximize our in-field productivity by reducing field operations’ time and increasing our equipment utilization rate. Launch Pad enables timely planning and execution of field operations which ensures smarter, faster, and more sustainable food production.
